What it is

Machine translation charged per character, with the first 500,000 characters each month handed back as a $10 credit. No plan, no seat, no minimum — but as with the rest of Google Cloud, a billing account has to exist before the first call.

Our observations

  • The free half million characters arrive as a credit every month, not once, so light use costs nothing month after month.
  • Their newer LLM translation is $10 per million in and $10 per million out, which works out level with the older engine rather than above it.
  • Documents are priced per page at $0.08 regardless of how little text is on the page.
