What it is
Quotes, invoices, expenses, time tracking and a client portal, in a product that used to cost money for thirteen years and then had its price tag removed. There is no paid tier of Zoho Invoice to climb to: you get 500 invoices a year, two users and three projects, and when you outgrow that Zoho points you at a different product rather than an upgrade button.

Our observations
- The only invoicing tool we found with no paid tier at all. There is nothing to be nudged towards, because inside this product there is nowhere to go.
- 500 invoices a year is about ten a week — comfortable for a freelancer, tight for a shop billing every job.
- The way out is sideways, not up: outgrow it and Zoho moves you to Zoho Billing, a different product with its own monthly price.
